Sivakka is an old village in Valtimo Northern Karelia Finland. The first people arrived near lake Autiojärvi in 1500's. They catched fish from the lake and hunted reindeers and rabbits etc.
When the agriculture improved people moved on the hills. They put forests away and build houses about the logs. People started grow plants when they were cultivated the land.
Name "sivakka" means skies. An old story tells about Karelian salesman called Hilippa Vorna who cut his skie bottom of Myllypuro valley. Because that he named the village Sivakka.
